Law & Regulation

There are some who claim that the free market can solve all problems. We would only ask: then why do we have any laws or regulations? Surely they were not created to deal at great expense with problems that the free market has already solved? No, our laws and regulations were created as a response to very real problems that the free market either did not solve or actually created. This is not to say that conservation people oppose the free market economy, but most are skeptical of the idea that the market should be totally unregulated. In this section we provide information on some of the laws and regulations that have been created to protect the environment.
